Police forces tried to arrest students participating in a student led protest around 1 pm today in Dawei.
The police tried to arrest the students while they ate lunch at a house in Dawei.
The locals in the quarter and protesters surrounded the police forces prompting them to let the protesters go.
Within minutes, hundreds of protesters and people on motorcycles gathered in front of the Dawei city Police Station and demanded that no arrests be made. So far, no one has been arrested.
